Sydney (And Claire's) Pick: Crab & Cleek

Let me start out this story by telling you about my niece, Claire Elizabeth. Claire is 2 years old, energetic, and the funniest girl I have ever met, who so happens to be an aspiring world-class shopper. If you are ever at the PGA Merchandise Show, you will see a little girl with a smocked outfit, curly hair, a big hair bow, and is prancing around in her giraffe backpack (that so happens to be a leash too, it really helps her momma). One day she was frolicking around the aisles of the trade show and a booth that was selling the prettiest, most colorful bags caught her eye. And if there is anything Claire loves, it is purses. She can’t go anywhere without having at least 3 purses on her arm. The nice lady (who so happened to be the owner) at the booth gave my niece a free mini tote and she has been carrying it around ever since. Though she is young, she has great taste. And that is how I came about finding Crab and Cleek!

I love these bags when I am going to the gym, grocery store, or just out running errands. And they look great with SE designs!

One of my favorites is the Tee It Up Tote. This would be so cute to carry around your golf shoes, extra sleeve of balls, etc. to and from the golf course.

Another one of my favorites is the Colorwash Green Turtle Tote.

They have a tote for every occasion and every outfit! I highly suggest you checking them out!

I want to thank Crab and Cleek, KJP, Ashley Brooke Designs, and Lisi Lerch for collaborating on our Sydney’s Pick Summer Series! I had so much fun trying out new products that are my favorites not only for summer, but year round! All of them Claire Elizabeth approved :)

Sydney's Pick: Kiel James Patrick

Classy girls wear pearls...and gold.

Every once in a while you stumble across an Instagram account that makes you reevaluate life, relationships, style, jewelry, whatever. KJP’s was one of those for me. About a year ago I stumbled across their Instagram account so I thought I would check them out. Kiel James Patrick and Sarah Vickers Patrick are two beautiful and preppy New Englanders who set out to spotlight quality, American made bracelets and other accessories. Everyone who knows me knows I am a sucker when it comes to bracelets, so I had to get my hands on some to try them out! And I LOVE the way they look with the Sydney Elizabeth collection! I am a firm believer that accessories are the key to having the complete “look”. I chose the “Sailor’s Luck in Gold”, which is a heavy gold nautical rope bracelet, and the “Classy Girls Wear Pearls”, which is a pearl clasp bracelet with a perfect size navy satin ribbon to top it off.

I paired these 2 bracelets with The Evin Skort and The Lexi Sleeveless Polo in Navy. I loved how it really made the navy and gold in the skort pop!

Sydney's Pick: Ashley Brooke Designs

Making every day things a little more fancy.

I love following bloggers and other companies on social media. Whenever I find an account I like, I become obsessed and have to check out what they are up to everyday. I have been following Ashley Brooke Designs on Instagram for a while now and they quickly became one of my favorite accounts to follow. For those of who you don’t know, ABD is a sunshine - state based design studio that create fun water bottles, phone cases, desk calendars, coffee mugs, etc. that make the every day items just a little bit more fancy! Ashley is also a blogger who has fantastic style so I always love to see what she’s wearing! When I started this series of my favorite items, I knew I wanted to collaborate with ABD.

I have been eyeing the First Class Floral Makeup Bag for a while now and was so happy when I got it! It’s the perfect size to carry all your makeup and would be great for traveling. The quality is also great and the print is adorable. I love how it says “First class please!”. I mean that says it all,  doesn’t it? The tassel on the side is the perfect touch to this adorable bag.

I try to go to the gym 3-4 times a week and am always carrying a water bottle with me (I know all you golf girls are carrying those water bottles!). Most of the time my water bottles are so plain and boring and I just love how this one from ABD says “I Like the Way You Work It”

Skylar Popover in Coral Pink, Lexi Sleeveless Polo, Arabella Skort, and ABD Work it Water Bottle

Skylar Popover in Coral Pink, Lexi Sleeveless Polo, Arabella Skort, and ABD Work it Water Bottle

Now with my new makeup bag and water bottle, it makes those mundane little things like getting ready and going to the gym (or driving range) just a little bit more fancy!

Sydney's Pick: Lisi Lerch

It's like a party on your ears...

You know when you find that perfect accessory to top off your outfit? Something that just makes the entire look come together and look complete. I have been on the hunt for the perfect accessory brands that celebrate the playful, fun, and colorful side of life, all what we are about at Sydney Elizabeth.

I discovered Lisi Lerch last year when we did a giveaway for our Instagram followers. Once I got that first package in the mail, ripped out the pink tissue paper and saw the goodies they had sent, I was instantly in love. I actually got to meet the designer, Lisi Lerch, herself at the PGA Show in January this year. She was just as sweet as her designs are fabulous.

At the PGA Merchandise Show with Lisi Lerch, and the owners of Sailor Sailor.

At the PGA Merchandise Show with Lisi Lerch, and the owners of Sailor Sailor.

The reason I was drawn to Lisi Lerch in the first place, is they seemed like they would be the cherry on top to any Sydney Elizabeth look. They are bright, fun, and have a classic flair about them. I now definitely have spring fever with all of these.

I could have definitely lived back in the 60’s.  The big hair, funky jewels, and thick eyeliner. I just love that look. I had been eyeing a couple styles in particular that I knew could be my new summer staple. I looove gold jewelry and I think even more so in the spring/summer for some reason. I picked the Gingers in Gold and the Jennys in Clear and Turquoise to style in this post.

The Gingers I know I can put with anything and it will look great. I decided to style it with our new Tinsley Skort, and our white Lexi Polo/Skylar Pullover combo.

The Jennys I had some trouble deciding just because they looked great with so many of our new Spring Collection styles! I finally landed on pairing it with the Tilly Skort and Lexi Polo in Sky Blue. I just love the way the turquoise in these earrings pull out the turquoise in the Tilly print and match the top perfectly!

Do ya’ll have any other suggestions on the perfect accessories for the Sydney Elizabeth look? We would love to hear your suggestions!

The Spring 2017 Collection by Sydney Elizabeth

Our best selling collection yet.

Welcome to the introduction post for the Spring Collection! I am so excited to finally launch this line because it is personally my favorite we have done to date. There is not one print that I do not love and the outfits that can be thrown together in this line are DAR-LING.

As most of you know, this brand was created by the female golfer for the female golfer. Growing up playing, I always had trouble finding golf clothes I actually enjoyed wearing to the golf course. Women’s golf apparel just wasn't cutting it, and tennis clothes did not provide the functionality needed for playing golf. As we women all know, we lead very busy lives and are always on the go. There is not much time in the day to go home and change your outfit to go hit balls or play a quick 9. This collection you can go from the grocery store, to the carpool lane, to the mall, and then to the golf course all with just a quick change of shoes. All of these styles are available in Standard and Country Club Length to where there is a 2 inch difference!

I am the type of person who does not like to spend a lot of time picking out outfits in the morning. So this collection is designed with 5 essential top colors: White, Navy, Petal Pink, Coral Pink, and our popular Sky Blue. Our Skylar Popover in Sky Blue was one of our best sellers last year, so we knew we had to come out with the polos to match. Throw any and every skort style with these tops and you have a put together outfit that takes no time! Our skort prints are designed with all of these essential colors keeping the woman on the go in mind.

We have 10 new prints in this collection and it is honestly so hard for me to pick a favorite.

The Sloane Skort is an adorable fish print that has summer written all over it. It has all the colors you need for a perfect summertime bottom. I love wearing this one with the polo or popover in Sky Blue.

The Addison Skort is such a pretty navy, turquoise, purple, and just a hint of green print that has a darling scalloped hem. This one looks so good with either the polos and popovers in Sky Blue and Navy. It really makes this print pop!

The Addison Skort with The Lexi Sleeveless Polo in Sky Blue

The Addison Skort with The Lexi Sleeveless Polo in Sky Blue

The Arabella Skort is surely to become a summer staple for many. Its floral print has all the colors you need for summer: yellow, hot pink, light pink, coral, and a dash of turquoise. Like all the styles, it can be paired with any top and look great, but my personal favorite match is with the polos and popovers in Coral Pink!

The Darcy Skort is near and dear to my heart because it was featured on The Golf Channel’s Morning Drive at the PGA Show this year. I wrote a blog post on that here. The colors in this pretty skort look amazing with either the classic white or Sky Blue polos and popovers

The Darcy Skort with the Lexi Short Sleeve Polo in Sky Blue.

The Harper Skort is a fresh look on the basic skort. Its yellow and white print coupled with the scalloped hem are sure to become one of my summer favs. I love this one with a Lexi White Polo and a Skylar Popover in Navy!

The Harper Skort

The Lennox Skort’s print is so unique to me! I have always been fan of this orange color and am so excited I finally have a style in it. This one looks great with either a white or navy polo or popover.

The Ophelia Skort really speaks to me and makes me wish summer is in full swing already! I mean, how cute is this hot pink print coupled with the accent trim?! This style looks so pretty with the white polos and popovers.

The Poppy Skort is so fun and girly to me! I love all the colors it incorporates and all the top options it gives. I love this one with the Petal Pink and Sky Blue polos and popovers. Just imagine that Sky Blue polo pulling out those turquoise accents!

The Tinsley Skort is bound to be worn a lot this summer for sure! Our trademark white scalloped hem is now available in this green and white herringbone print. This looks so pretty and classic with the white polos and popovers. It really accents the trim!

The PGA Merchandise Show 2017

Show Stopping!

Hey guys!!! Wow, it has been a while since my last blog post. This year one of my goals is to be better about keeping everyone up to date on all things SE :)

First of all, I just want to thank everyone on a very successful 2016. Who would have thought that a little girl with a golf club and a dream of having a little skort line would turn into what it is. I have every one of YOU to thank for that!

We just got back from the PGA Merchandise Show and had a blast debuting our Spring 2017 Collection. We got so much great feedback and am so excited to announce the new retailers where you will be able to find us! I can’t announce exactly who yet, but lets just say we will be a lot more accessible this year than last. :)

This collection is my favorite we have done to date. My favorite part about this line are all the new prints and how easy it is to put outfits together with every piece. We have 5 essential shirt colors that goes with any and every skort print and gives you that complete SE look! I will have another blog post up going into more detail about the collection and it will be available later this month! I am so so excited for you all to see.

One of the biggest highlights from this week was being featured on The Golf Channel’s Morning Drive with Bailey Mosier. I had just arrived in Orlando and was getting ready to go to set up when I got the email saying they wanted to feature me on the women’s golf apparel segment. I can’t even tell you how exciting/scary that was! They wanted to spotlight one of my mannequins on the live segment. The only problem was I did not bring a mannequin… Do you know how hard it is to find a good quality mannequin last minute when you’re at one of the biggest trade shows of the year? It’s not easy. After running around the city of Orlando during rush hour, I was able to find just what I needed in the knick of time. Shoutout to Barr Display for hooking me up! You can see the full video here

We were setup at booth 6554 this year and the upgrades we made to our booth really paid off. It felt like a little store with wood flooring and all. I used an Atlanta-based business called Let’s Display and they had everything set up for me when I arrived on Tuesday. If you ever need someone for your display needs they were awesome to work with!

This was right after my mad mannequin search.

So thankful for my beautiful help!

One of my favorite things about going to this show every year is meeting other designers of some of my favorite brands. Here is a picture with designers of Sailor-Sailor (super cute dresses!) and Lisi Lerch (my favorite earrings!).

And of course a trip to Orlando would not be complete without a day at Disney World! The past couple years after the show we have been meeting up with some of our family from the Tampa area and just taking a couple days to relax and have some fun after the rush of the show.

Don't judge on the winter coats...it was cold!!

Thank you all for reading! Leave your comments about what you would like to see from us in 2017! The countdown is officially on for our spring launch!!!

Weekend in Review: Girl's Golf Camp

Bonnie Blackburn Girl's Golf Camp

This past weekend, I had the honor in speaking and volunteering at the Bonnie Blackburn Girl’s Golf Camp in Franklin, Tennessee. For those of you who don’t know, this weekend camp is when junior girl’s in the area get to stay all weekend at the historic Golf House of Tennessee, get to play, and learn more about the game of golf. They also get to play in scrambles with their friends, practice all sorts of fun drills, and participate in a talent show at the end of the weekend. A lot of the collegiate women golfers in the area come and volunteer and it’s just a whole of fun for everybody. If you have a little one in the area, I definitely recommend you trying it out next year!

You know you're at a girl's golf camp when...

You know you're at a girl's golf camp when...

This was the first year I have been since graduating, and like I said before, I had the honor of speaking to the girls a little bit about my story. I told them how my grandfather got me started in the game, how I worked my way to a golf scholarship to Belmont, and how I started my golf apparel business. I told them that when I was their age all I wanted to go was play golf. My mom would drop me off at the golf course after school, and come pick me up when it got dark. I could tell that almost every girl in there could relate to my young passion for the game. I asked who all wanted to be on the LPGA Tour and almost every hand shot up. I told them this was once my dream, but once I got a little older, I realized that wasn’t the route that was for me. I instead joined my two passions for clothes and golf and started my business. I told them that it is OK for your dreams to change when you get older, the most important thing is you just don’t stop dreaming!

Looking into their eyes as I was talking I almost got emotional, because it feels like yesterday I was that wide-eyed girl with huge dreams and an even bigger passion for the game. It made me so excited and left feeling so inspired to see all those young girls with the same passion I had.

I am very honored to have spoken to this group of girls. I would have never guessed when I was 10 or 11 years old that I would be in a position to influence young girls. And I have to tell you, it was one of the best joys since starting this business!

Keep dreaming, girls!

Fall/Resort Collection 2016

Fall into SE!

Everyone knows that I am summer’s biggest fan. But if I am being honest, there is just nothing like a crisp fall day on the golf course or spent anywhere outdoors. I love seeing the leaves change into bright colors, the smell of pumpkin spice lattes, and just the beauty of seeing the seasons change. Summer is great and all, but it can just be so hot! Fall is the perfect time to go explore outside and because of this, we wanted to celebrate the changing of seasons with introducing our very first Fall/ Resort Collection!

This collection consists of two brand new skort styles that we know you are just going to love. I have been on a big blue and white kick lately (I decorated my whole apartment in blue and white this year!), and so I hope you love these designs just as much as I do! The prints while being fall appropriate, can easily transition into any season, making them perfect to wear all year. The introduction of our Country Club Lengths was so successful, that we are fully stocked on both the Standard and Country Club Lengths in both styles! No matter what age or size, we have the perfect style for you to fit your needs.

Pictured: Maddie Long Sleeve Top in Navy, and the Paige Skort in Standard Length!

The Evin Skort is a navy and gold arrow print. This design is just so different than anything we have done in the past, and I just love it! It’s colors are just so fall appropriate but can transition into those spring and summer months as well. Perfect for the girl who “follows her own arrow”.

Pictured: The Evin Skort in Standard Length

The Paige Skort I am obessed with. It is a white and blue kind of geometric/floral print that really just pops and stands out, but is pretty and classic at the same time. Of course both styles of skorts are complete with our signature deep front pockets, a back pocket, our silky spandex inner shorts, and a tasteful SE logo to be found on the back.

Pictured: The Paige Skort in Country Club Length

Also new, is the Skylar Popover in light pink! These popovers are back and better than ever with their new and improved fit and feel. The stretchy makeup of the material is perfect for movement, and to throw on top of your favorite polo on those crisp fall mornings. This light pink color goes great with so many of our skort styles. My favorites being: Emma, Adelaide, Pink Seersucker, and Mallory skorts.

The Maddie Long Sleeve Top is also back and better than ever in this new navy color! The fit and feel is also new and improved and looks great with so many of our current and new styles! It looks especially great with the Paige Skort!

Confession…we were almost totally sold out of our Lexi Polo Line in short sleeve AND sleeveless and we have just gotten a new shipment in! We wanted to make sure you had tops to make your perfect go-together outfit with these new styles! These usually go fast so get them while you can!

Oh, and some GREAT news… We have just added 2 styles to our clearance section! Yes, people. That means 50% off retail price! The Berkeley and Lydia style is new to the clearance section! Grab these while you can because they will go quick!

Go for the Gold!

Women's Golf and The Olympics

Did you know the last time golf was in the Olympics was in 1904?! And did you know the last time women’s golf was in the Olympics was in 1900?! Yes, people. That was 116 years ago. The reigning champion is American Margaret Abbott back when the Olympic Games were held in Paris, France all those years ago. This year, the field is studded with 60 of the world’s best females golfers in the world including Americans Stacy Lewis, Lexi Thompson, Gerina Piller, and Kelly Tan.

So even though I can not be in Rio to watch the games in person, does not mean I can’t look like a champion while watching them at home, right? So I put together some of my favorite outfits with some South American-flair that I plan to wear while watching :)

Back to School Beauty Tips for the Active Girl

Hello, Beautiful!

The summer is slowly coming to an end and with that comes the beginning of the school year! This is a busy time of year for a lot of people including high school and college athletes, or just those who have a lot of after school activities. I was always very active with school sports from soccer, volleyball, and of course golf. With all the busy long days, I needed ways to keep my face fresh looking and makeup lasting all day that would take me from class to whatever activity I was involved in after school!

The Sydney Elizabeth brand is all about versatility—outfits that take you from the golf course to a night out with the girls. So I have come up with some tips and tricks to keep you looking fresh all during your busy and active day!

Disclaimer: I do not pretend to be a master make-up artist; these are just products and tips that work for me personally. And I think they will work for you as well! I know us girls are always working on a budget, so I have included some drugstore and high end options for you! I’ve linked everything I use down below!

1. Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize

I have oily-acne prone skin and I used to buy into the myth that if I moisturized before applying makeup, that would make me more oily and break out. Friends, this is not true! When you don’t apply a moisturizer, your skin actually compensates for it and produces more oil, causing acne and breakouts. Applying a moisturizer is also a good way to keep you looking fresh and hydrated throughout the day. My favorite one to use right now is the Eau Thermale Avéne Clean-AC Hydrating Cream. This is a more higher-end option, but it just gives your skin just a pretty and fresh glow. A more affordable option that is also great is the Aveeno Clear Complexion Daily Moisturizer. This one is great because it is oil free and will help you to look hydrated without breaking you out!

Eau Thermale Avéne Clean-AC         Hydrating Cream // $22

Aveeno Clear Complexion Daily Moisturizer // $9

2. USE A SUNSCREEN!!!

Ladies, it is so important to protect your skin throughout the day so you won’t have damaged and wrinkled skin down the road. More importantly, it protects you from UVA and UVB rays that can cause life threatening skin cancers. If you get nothing out of this post, get this: wear a sunscreen! For the girl with the active lifestyle I recommend using an oil-free one just because it will not clog your pores and make you look greasy. My favorite sunscreen to wear on my face is the Neutrogena Clear Face Break-Out Free Sunscreen . This is a great one because it is super light-weight and affordable! A higher end one that I am obsessed with is the Elta MD Oil Free Sunscreen . It is a little bit more pricey, but it seriously feels like silk going on your skin.

3. Primers

I used to not be a big believer in primers, but after using them while playing college golf I really started to become addicted. They give your skin a base layer for your makeup to sit on instead of just sinking into your pores and causing breakouts and excess oil. They also make your makeup stay on 10 x longer and help you stay matte through out your busy day. I would get up at 5 am sometimes, play 18 holes, and my makeup would still be in place after using a primer. My personal favorite is the Benefit Porefessional primer, but just as good is the NYX Pore Filler Primer  which you can find at your local drugstore.

4. Foundation-optional

You can definitely skip this step if you want and just use a bronzer to warm up the skin, but I personally like a little extra face coverage. But I definitely get it—super hot days on the golf course it’s just not worth it sometimes. They key here is to use something lightweight and breathable while you are sweating and being active. I have been using the Garnier BB Cream for Oily/Combination skin  for years! It is very good at keeping you matte and giving you a some coverage to hide some blemishes. It also lasts all day long which is hard to say for a lot of light weight products. This can be found at the drugstore and it’s so good I don’t even have a higher end product to recommend!

Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream // $11

5. Concealer

Ok, girl lets face it. On those busy days we just get tired and our under eye area shows it! Thats why we need a good concealer that will stay in place all day and will help you look fresh and awake! I was blessed with lovely little dark circles so this step is a must for me. I recommend the Maybelline Master Conceal because it has great coverage and is also oil free so it won’t “melt off” your face throughout the day.

Maybelline Master Conceal Camouflaging Concealer // $7

Maybelline Master Conceal Camouflaging Concealer // $7

6. Powder-optional

Again, you can definitely skip this step but I have found that when you set your face with a powder, it helps your makeup stay on so much longer and will keep you looking matte. My all time fav is the Maybelline Fit Me powder for oily skin. They have several different types depending on your skin type, but I just love the oil-free one because it helps absorb some of the excess oil.

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder // $4

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder // $4

7. Bronzer

My favorite part of putting on makeup!!! Some days when I know I am going to be sweating a lot and in a lot of heat, I will just jump right to my bronzer to warm up my skin and call it a day. You definitely want to grab something that has a matte, natural finish like the Benefit Hoola Bronzer , or way more affordable (and honestly just as good!) is the NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer. It’s seriously like $3!

Benefit Hoola Bronzer // $29

Benefit Hoola Bronzer // $29

NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer // $3

8. Blush- optional

So on days when you know you are going to be super active you may not need a blush—just a quick swipe of bronzer will do! But personally, if I am going to school I want to add this extra step just to help give me a natural flush to my cheeks. My favorite one to use right now is the NYX Ombre blush  in the shade “Soft Flush”. So pretty and natural. On days you know you will be sweating, I would avoid blushes with any shimmer in them because they accentuate any large pores or problem areas you may have.

NYX Ombre Blush in Soft Flush // $9

9. Mascara

It is important to use a waterproof mascara when you know you are going to be active that day. It will help your mascara stay in place all day without rubbing off or causing a black stream running down your face…that’s not a cute look for anybody. My all time FAVORITE is the Loreal Voluminous mascara.

Loreal Voluminous Waterproof Mascara // $5

Loreal Voluminous Waterproof Mascara // $5

10. Eyeliner-optional

Eyeliner is just one step I can’t seem to give up no matter how hard I try, but you can for sure skip this step. It’s not necessary for an every day active look. I guess I just like being a little more high maintenance :) Again, reach for the waterproof and go with the Maybelline Unstoppable Smudgeproof Eyeliner. It will stay on all day even throughout heat and sweat.

11. Eyeshadow- don’t need it!

Honestly, on mornings where I am in a hurry and don’t feel like doing much to my eyes, I will just dip into my bronzer to warm up my eyelids. It’s a quick and easy step that makes you look like you actually spent some time getting ready. I told ya’ll bronzer was my favorite thing ever!

12. Setting Sprays

I love using my Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray because not only do I think it makes my makeup look better, but it also helps my makeup stay on All. Day. Long. It’s like hairspray for the face. I honestly haven’t experimented with any drugstore setting sprays, but let me know which ones you think are good!

Wedding Updates and More!

I'm Married!!!

Hello everybody!

Wow, it has been a while since my last blog post and so much has happened since then! It has been so crazy busy around here for me lately. For those of you who don’t know, I recently got married to the man of my dreams on June 4th. It was the perfect day for us getting to celebrate with all our friends and family. It had been raining all week here in Nashville and it stopped just long enough for us to get through the wedding and reception. The next morning we left for our honeymoon for the Dominican Republic and it was probably the best week of my life. I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t hard to come back home. :) But anyways…I’m home now and finally getting all caught up!

Here are some pictures from the wedding and honeymoon!

They are 2 inches longer than our Standard Length and will hit you just at the knee. These are only available in select sizes and styles, but you can grab them here, here, here, , here and finally here.

Happy Birthday to US!

Happy Birthday SE, Happy Birthday SE...

Isn’t it so crazy in what can all happen in a year? I mean, this time last year I was in the middle of my senior year finals, finishing up college golf, and getting ready for graduation, all while launching “Sydney Elizabeth”. I’m going to be honest with ya’ll, I didn’t do as well on those finals as I probably should have with all the frenzy of launching a new business…BUT I made it through! It was a very busy and even stressful time but I wouldn’t have done it any different.  One year later, I am sitting in my office, running a successful business, and planning a wedding. It is so crazy in what can happen in a year.

I want to thank everyone who follows me on social media, who has placed an order, and everyone who supports me and shares the same excitement about “Sydney Elizabeth” as I do. You all are the best! xoxo

The Spring 2016 Collection...This is no April Fools!

Our New Arrivals!

Girls, the wait is finally over! The days are getting longer, and the hemlines are getting shorter. I have been so excited to introduce the new Sydney Elizabeth 2016 Collection to everyone and I have to say, I think this line is my favorite so far.

If you love boring clothes, then this line is not for you. The bright colors, fun prints, scalloped edges, dashes of trim, and flattering fit is inspired by the girls they were designed for: YOU! And you know we had to include those essential pockets and spandex inner shorts perfect for all your summer adventures.

I know a lot of you have been asking for more polos, and I think we have just what you are looking for! The new and improved Lexi Polo Line are a cotton-spandex blend that has a flattering fitted look without being super snug. They hang like a cotton, but feel like spandex to keep you cool and comfortable! The Lexi Polos are designed to be thrown with any and every skort style and look like you spent a lot of time picking out your outfit. I am the girl that throws on whatever I can find thats clean and expect it to look great…so this was very important to me!

One of my favorite things about this line is it doesn’t just look like golf clothes. In fact, if it wasn’t for the logo on the inside tag you would probably never know they were designed with the female golfer in mind. Ultimately, that is why I started this line, but I believe clothes should have more than one purpose! Wear it to lunch with the girls, church with the family, shopping on the weekend, and then hit the course all in one outfit!

So… I am trying something new this year and so far it has been REALLY successful. And that is the introduction of our Country Club Length. Two inches longer than our Standard Length, the Country Club Length is designed for the woman who likes her skorts to hit just above the knee. These lengths are found exclusively at Sydney Elizabeth retailers, which can be found by clicking here.

My personal favorite outfit in this line? That’s very hard to say because I have a new favorite daily, but today it is the Lexi Polo in Pink paired with the Emma Skort. I just think it looks so feminine and girly and fun! If you want to know more of my favorite matchups, under each product we now have a “Sydney’s Favorite Matchup” section where I tell you my favorite looks! I am excited to hear what your favorite outfit matchup is and can’t wait for you to try them out!

Lots of Snow and The PGA Show

The show must go on!

Hey guys! Sorry this blog post is coming up so late, I have just been slammed since I got back from Orlando last week from the PGA Show. Spring orders have been flooding in and I am already sold out of some styles in my Spring Collection! But not to worry, I saved just enough for ya’ll to enjoy :) Can’t wait until NEXT MONTH when those new styles will be available on the website!

So the PGA Show…what an experience. It was seriously like a preps dream come true in there. I looked to my right and there was Callaway, Taylormade, and Mizuno;  Looked to my left and there was Vineyard Vines, Ralph Lauren, and Brooks Brothers; And then looked again and there was Ame & LuLu, Katherine Way, Gretchen Scott, Crab and Cleek, etc. The list goes on and on! I have personally never experienced anything like it and it was ah-mazing.

Now that's a booth..

Now that's a booth..

View from our booth!

View from our booth!

Our journey started on Monday, and I was personally nervous we weren’t going to make it out of town. Nashville had just had a huge amount of snow hit and I hadn’t been able to leave my house for a couple days because of it. But my sister, Abby, and I were able to leave and we were on our way for an 11 hour drive down to Florida. I could just feel myself thaw out the farther south I got. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go back to the cold! It’s hard going back to 30 degrees when you get used to high 70’s all week, ya know?

The next day was move-in day at the show, and this is where the nerves kind of hit. This is the first big trade show that Sydney Elizabeth had ever done and I had no clue where to go, what door to go in, where my booth was, how to get my stuff in there, where to park, etc. We pulled up to the gigantic Orange County Convention Center and we began to unload. I think we did something semi-illegal during this time, because we parked in the taxi lane by the loading dock and unloaded when we were technically supposed to go wait in an hour-long line to get in the loading dock, but hey, a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do.

Before...

Before...

And after!

And after!

Anyways, almost 4 hours later and my booth was looking pretty awesome. I had this kind of Palm Beach boutique-feeling going on which is exactly what I wanted. One of my favorite parts about my booth was the poster-board my sister and I made. It had pictures of all of YOU on it wearing Sydney Elizabeth! It was sentimental in a way because it documented the past year I had. Put on a pretty white frame and viola! I also loved the candle I had on our table that was filled with sand and seashells. It smelled so good and just felt so warm and welcoming to people walking in and out.

Do you see yourself on here? :)

Do you see yourself on here? :)

The morning of the first day of the show arrived and I probably didn’t sleep at all the night before. You know when you feel like you never really went to sleep, and you just laid there all night? Well, that was me. I was just constantly thinking about how the day would go, all the stuff I still had to do, etc. So as soon as we got ready we headed to the car and…pouring down rain. Not going to lie, I was kind of freaking out because I knew my hair would never last in this weather and I still had my garment rack of samples that I had to roll in and just knew that they would get all wet. Not the ideal way to start off the first morning, but we got it done, the samples stayed dry (by some miracle), and I was ready to take on a day of appointments!

Day 1! Flat hair and all! :)

Day 1! Flat hair and all! :)

The actual show was so much fun, guys. We got to dress up everyday looking cute in our Sydney Elizabeth outfits, and showed the different ways they could be styled. I had people coming up to me saying they followed me on Instagram and asking to take pictures with me, others saying that they loved that I was doing something different and was setting a new trend in golf apparel…it was just so much fun.

I also met some new friends while I was down there. All the other exhibitors and PGA staff were so nice, friendly, and helpful and were a lot of fun to be around all week. The ladies from Dolly Mama Designs were some of the sweetest people ever. Also, Tucker Blair was super cool and I just loved their style.

The show lasted 3 days and by the 3rd day we were all exhausted. I had been on my feet from 6 am to 6 pm all day for 3 days and I was just ready for a day off. So what did we do? We went to Disney World, of course! We met some of my family down there and had a blast!

Overall, my experience at the PGA Show was great. I had so much fun, met a lot of new people, got the Collection into a bunch of new stores, and met a lot of great people along the way. I will definitely be back next year!

Couldn't have done it without these ladies!

hairbanglez

Hot new accessory!

You know that annoying ring that gets around your wrist when you are sporting a hair band… and then you have this funky looking indention around your wrist for the rest of the day? My mom always used to get on to me when I had a ugly black hair band wrapped around my wrist because it really doesn’t do an outfit or look any favors. Well here is a solution to your problem and one of my new obsessions!

Here I have on Peony Pink, Nay & Kelly Green, and Neon Coral. I loved how it looked with my all navy look! Yes...this is a spoiler of our new polo line coming this spring :)

Hairbangelz really are wrist glam for hair bands! They are a stylish way to wear your hair band when it’s not in your hair! The rubber bracelets have indentions in them where you can wrap your hair tie and it not stick out like a sore thumb! They have several different lines of bangles from which you can choose. Their Metal Collection, is when you are going for a little more of a chic-city look. Their Original Plastics Collection is good for the every day look. And then they have their Sporty Collection, which I am sporting (no pun intended). I recommend The Sporty Collection if you are doing something active like golf or tennis, because they are really soft and light on the skin and you don’t really notice that they are there.

Kelly Green, Turquoise, Orchid Pink, and Light Purple were pretty spot on with my Berkeley Skort if you ask me!

I am always looking for new products to feature on here that make the active woman’s lifestyle just a little more glamorous, and I definitely recommend hairbangelz!

I would love to hear your suggestions on more brands and products for all you active ladies out there! Leave comments of what you would like to see more of!

They also have a wide range of colors to choose from, so there is definitely something for everyone! My personal favorites are the Navy & Kelly Green because I am obsessed with navy…AND I thought it looked great with my Newport Skort! I also love the Neon Coral color because it really makes your tan pop. And I am all about that!

Happy New Year!

And so the adventure begins…

New Years has always been kind of a sad holiday to me. Another year has come and gone, memories made, people get another year older,  and the unknown of a brand new year is upon us. This year, however, is an exception. When I think back on the year I’ve had…wow, I can’t even believe of what all has happened!

One year ago today I was just a college student dreaming about starting my own business. In between classes, golf practice, workouts, group projects, homework, and balancing a social life, I managed to find time here and there to work on my designs, hunt for fabric, and create a brand that I always wished I had. I’m not going to lie, it was one of the most stressful and busy times in my life! But I would not have traded that time for anything.

So instead of just telling you of what all has happened this year for me and “Sydney Elizabeth”, I have decided to just share my year in pictures.

The trip that started it all! Last January I went to New York City with my best friend Hannah (left), mom, and dad to source all my fabric that would turn into my designs! I'm proud to say that 100% of my materials come from the USA.

My Orlando Adventure

Florida or Bust!

I had the pleasure this past weekend of heading down to Orlando, Florida to pop up shop at the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour’s Girl’s Championship at Championsgate Country Club. First of all, it was so nice to go down to the 85 degree weather, while the weather in Nashville is getting very winter-like. The journey started at 6:45 am sharp on a Friday morning and yes, I drove the whole way. You can ask anyone who knows me or my family and they will all tell you that we keep the road pretty hot. I am always down to go on a road trip, and most of the time I prefer itover flying. I don’t really know why. It probably has a lot to do with the fact that I like to over-pack and bring way too many clothes. But hey, you never know when you’re going to need an outfit change!

My friend Hannah got to go with me on this journey and we had an absolute blast! We talked the entire way from Nashville, right until we hit the Florida line when we finally decided to turn on the radio. Having a travel buddy definitely makes the time go by faster.

Hannah. We had a lot of fun taking pictures while all the girls were out playing!

Hannah. We had a lot of fun taking pictures while all the girls were out playing!

When we FINALLY rolled into Orlando we got a quick bite to eat and what did we do next after driving all day? Hit the outlet mall of course. For those of you who have never been down there, Orlando has some of the best outlets and it’s imperative for you to go at least once.

The next day started at 5:45 am when we got ready and headed to the golf course. I absolutely loved it down there and it kind of held some special memories for me. When I was in high school and playing in junior tournaments, my dad took me down to Championsgate Resort to study with Dr. Bob Winters, a fabulous sports psychologist who specializes in golfers. He works with world renowned players like Michele Wie, Julieta Grenada, and Sandra Gal just to name a few. I remember Dr. Bob drove past Michele Wie while she was hitting on the range and she waved at me. I fan-girled just a little. I had the pleasure of making that trip a couple times with my dad and it is one of those father-daughter trips I will always cherish.

Dad and me on a golf trip.

Dad and me on a golf trip.

Any time I have a pop-up at a tournament it is a VERY long day. But it’s also a lot of fun. It gives me the opportunity to create a store front and bring it right to the girls. I wish I had something like that while I was playing in tournaments growing up! Not only does it offer the golfers a little something extra, but it gives their moms something to do while their daughters are warming up!

What a Sydney Elizabeth pop up looks like. It was very windy and the backdrop kept blowing over!

I love meeting all my customers and hearing where they are from, when they started playing golf, and really getting to know them personally. It is so neat for me to meet girls who have tagged me in their pictures on Instagram before. I love it!

Our tournament tour is coming to a close as the holidays approach, but I am excited to see what events we end up going to next year. I will be heading back down to Orlando next month for the PGA Merchandise Show and can not wait to see what that will hold.

Stay tuned!

Muscles and Mascara

Working on my fitness!

Working out has always been one of those things that was not easy for me to do. Especially by myself. When I was in college playing Division 1 golf, I was forced to go to workouts. I may even have enjoyed it because it was something we got to do as a team. It made the time go by faster and I may have even looked forward to it (just a little) when I was surrounded by my teammates and we were all working toward a common goal. As a way of team bonding, we would always complain how sore we were from our previous workouts. This is the time of year when the weather gets a little colder, and golf season starts to wind down. We aren’t spending as much time outside anymore with the cooler temps. This is a great time of year to get in the gym and work on your fitness and get ready for when the golf and tennis season does start up again! And remember, think strong not skinny!

Now that I am graduated and I am not playing golf for school anymore, it was really hard for me at first to get back in the gym and actually force myself to go. I went probably 2 months without really working out, and I could feel it too. I am sure that everyone can agree when you are active and used to that active lifestyle, it becomes a habit and you love the way you feel after the fact, even though you may not enjoy it at the time. It wasn't until I got engaged over the summer that I really started to get back in the gym. Having a wedding to plan is a big motivator to work out! ;)

The best advise I can give to somebody who is going through this same struggle is to find a workout buddy! A killer playlist and some cool gym accessories don’t hurt either. I have always been a fan of Nike shoes, and these Nike Air Vapor Advantage shoes make me want to go hop on a treadmill. They are only $49.97 on Nike’s website!

I also am loving Ashley Brook Designs “Too Legit To Quit” water bottle. I always have a water in tow (especially while working out) and this sassy sports bottle does just the trick. You can get this bottle for $25 on ABD’s website.

I am a person that cannot workout in silence. I constantly have to have some music playing. These Skull Candy Groove Traction Control Earbuds can be found at Target for like $7.50. I love these earbuds because they never slip out of your ears while you are doing something active. These are my go-to headphone when I am doing a range session too!

Last but not least, we have some popovers coming soon that is the perfect workout jacket! They are great for morning runs, or chilly days out on the golf course. The Skylar Popover will be available in turquoise (pictured) and white! Stay tuned for when these will be available!

Now, about that playlist. Here is what is on repeat for me this week:

  1. Drink You Away by Justin Timberlake
  2. Smoke Break by Carrie Underwood
  3. Traveller by Chris Stapleton
  4. Bathroom Sink by Miranda Lambert
  5. Lights Down Low by Jessie James Decker

I would love to hear what your workout routines look like and what is on your playlist! Comment below and thank you for reading!
